Kay has successfully competed in Obedience, Trials, (Working and Sheepdog), Heelwork to Music and the Show Ring.

She competed in the first UK competition in 1996, and partnered Mary Ray to several successful wins in pairs competitions as well as demonstration at Crufts.

In 2000 she founded the Paws n Music Association, which is the only UK Kennel Club affiliated organisation that specialises in the sport. The Association incorporated the successful Progress Awards designed by Kay that serve as a curriculum for structured training across the four PNM divisions: Musical Dressage, Heelwork To Music, Freestyle and Dances with Dogs.

Kay is the author of Dances With Dogs which contains a range of recipes for teaching the movements for all four divisions. She has presented several workshops around the UK, Europe, South Africa, New Zealand and USA in Freestyle influencing the young sport from the outset.

She currently competes with Speck and Dottie (aka “The Spots”) in a handful of UK competitions and was a judge at Crufts 2008 for the finals of the Freestyle, Heelwork to Music and International competitions.

Kay and Speck competitng in Intermediate Heelwork to Music.
